The article deals with the analysis of the peculiar M. Amis’s humour in his early novel “The Rachel Papers” contrasted to the text of translation. Special attention is paid to the puns, attracting the reader by the originality and peculiar writer’s manner, as well as to the problems the translator encounters while working with the comic discourse.
