OVERVIEW OF FEMALE IMAGES IN MYTHS AND LEGENDS OF ANCIENT CHINA

The article is devoted to the study of female images in the mythology of ancient China. Mythology of China is a combination of philosophical teachings. This type of folklore left a significant imprint on the culture of China. A reference to the heroes and events is traced in the literary works of Chinese literature of a later period. The specificity of mythological views determined the significance of various phenomena. In Chinese mythology, an important role was given to female images. Women goddesses, according to Chinese myths, are at the origins of the creation of the world. They created a new life, fought disasters, protected, protected the suffering, saved. So, for example, the ancestress of all Chinese, the woman with a snake-body - Nyuva, the queen of all immortal women, snakes and other creatures of the female sex, the guardian of peaches of immortality Xi Wang Mu, “looking at the suffering of the world” the merciful goddess Guanyin, the heavenly empress Tianhou, the savior of sailors and drowning. This incomplete list of the goddesses of the Chinese pantheon allows you to see that all goddesses have the main female qualities, such as kindness, mercy, compassion and beauty.
