PECULARITIES OF REPETITIONS IN THE TEXTS OF THE NEW YEAR ADDRESS OF THE FRENCH AND CAMEROONIAN PRESIDENTS

The article is devoted to the study of the repetition as a linguistic mean in the texts of two 2018 New Year addresses by the president of France Emmanuel Macron and the president of the Republic of Cameroon Paul Biya. The article touches upon the notion of political text as a genre of political communication. The political texts classification parameters are dealt with. It was worked out that a New Year address considered to be a political text and belonged to the ceremonial genre. The political communication genre model of description is discussed and differential characteristic features of the New Year address have been revealed. The repetition types in the texts of two New Year addresses are analyzed. The analysis has shown general and specific features of two New Year addresses texts by the presents. It turns out that in both adresses’ texts lexical type of the repetition is the most widely used one.
