LITERARY IMAGE OF HERCULE POIROT AS A WEIRDO IN DISCOURSE OF ENGLISH LITERATURE

Presented in the article the descriptive and discursive characteristics of Hercule Poirot, a unique image of a “strange” Belgian detective as an English weirdo, created by English writer Agatha Christie, reveal differences in such similar categories as “Alien” and “Other”. Various actualization of the artistic image of Poirot as an English weirdo are determined. The tendencies in the genesis of the images of a weirdo and a freak in the processes of British national identification are established.
