The article is devoted to the problem of the effectiveness of educational activity, an important component of which is quality assessment. The significance of the development of comparable criteria and methodologies for assessing the activities of teachers is substantiated. The relevance of the use of key performance indicators is considered. The issue of distributing the extra-curricular load of teachers as part of the system of assessing the work of teaching staff at the university is presented in detail. The article is addressed to teachers and teachers of foreign languages, all interested in the issue of assessing the quality of educational activities
