In this article we scrutinize such forms of behavior of the characters F.M. Dostoevsky as “the self-practice” and teaching on the material of the novels “The Idiot”, “Demons”, “The Brothers Karamazov”. In the course of the study, we found that many of Dostoevsky's characters are often only at the beginning of the path of personal self-improvement, which explains the impetuous nature of their behavior, the hidden motivation of actions. Doubling has a modeling nature. It manifests itself at the level of actions, gestures. There is often a duplication of the subjects of the narrative. In addition, we examined the teaching and behavioral model of “teacher-student”. The formal approach applied in this article is aimed at understanding the poetics of F.M. Dostoevsky.
Key words: forms of behavior, “self-practice”, self-improvement, teaching, Dostoevsky
