The article presents a descriptive research of linguistic means of creation of the author’s image in the sections Opinion and Academics Anonymous in the electronic version of the newspaper The Guardian . The importance of the communicative situation in which the feedback between the author and the reader is directly dependent on the author’s image created by the proper organization of the text has been proven. The author’s image in publicism is viewed as the uniting element, creating textual unity. The importance of the author’s image for realization of the main functions of publicism is emphasized.
