CRIMINAL LIABILITY FOR FORGERY OF DOCUMENTS ACCORDING TO LEGISLATION ACTS OF THE MIDDLE OF XVII CENTURY - BEGINNING OF XIX CENTURY

Questions of regulation of liability for legislative acts forgery commitment of the middle of XVII century - beginning of XIX century are being considered in this article. Author of the article analyses and compares historical and legal acts which secure responsibility for national importance documents forgery and also for private documents’ forgery. In detailed analysis of legal acts of this particular period the author comes to a conclusion that the punishment for documents forgery was diverse, even up to the death penalty. But in real life this punishment was replaced with the lighter punishment based on separately published government decrees. Generally, legal acts of the middle of XVII century - beginning of XIX century made a significant impact for further development of legislation establishing responsibility for documents forgery in Russia.
