The article is devoted to linguistic vitality / viability of the Russian and English languages. The authors of the article attempt to prove that the viability of these languages is achieved not only by the demographic and territorial factors, but also by a special kind of literature - translingual. In the works of fiction translingual authors Russian and English act as translators of specific worldview, which is not inherent in native speakers of Russian and English languages.
