The Institute of registration of immovable property is a necessary condition for the establishment of an effective land market. The article describes the experience of legislative regulation of registration of rights to real estate (land) under the laws of the Russian Empire. The author comes to the conclusion that the formation of the system of registration of rights to immovable property, including land, has become the most important prerequisite for the development of bourgeois relations of legislative provision of property rights.
