Article purpose is definition of concept of an is subjective-estimated modality from a position of an estimation of reliability and the analysis of means of its expression in the historiographic text. The role of a category of reliability in formation of a memoirs genre is considered. On the basis of the analysis of some language means of expression of this text category in Phillip de Kommin’s “Memoirs” comes to light its graduated character.
