The paper dwells on the study of the cognitive mechanisms of the apperceptive nomination of phytonyms in artistic text. The functioning of the apperceptive nomination is revealed by the example of the phytonym “lilac”, which forms the semantic space, accumulates the evaluative, figurative and expressive perception of the text through subjective representations and sensory impressions, which are identified in the process of apperceptive nomination of the artistic text.
