Actual problems of determining the linguistic status of the term construction sociosphere as cognition, as a representative sign reflecting the conceptual - categorical, denotative, functional, semiotic, sociocommunicative and cognitive features of the language of science and the verbal construction sociosphere are considered. It is proved that the term construction sphere is cognition. The implementation of the two most important principles of cognitive linguistics in relation to the construction term as a cognitive sign is shown. The fundamental properties of the term are investigated, such as functionalism, semiotism and sociality. The role of science and the language of science in the processes of civilizational development of each society is shown.
