The aim of the research is to consider some phonetic peculiarities of one of the territorial variants of West African English, namely Cameroonian English. It is topical due to the need of studying the processes and variations occurring in the languages functioning beyond the borders of their native habitats. Some considerable divergences between the phonetic system of British English and its Cameroonian mesolect variant have been found. Not only the system of vowels and consonants have been considered but also some alterations on the prosodic level.
