The various types of structural and semantic transformations specific to the artistic space of T. Tolstoy’s works are considered in the article. Productive transformation techniques are subjected to detailed analysis: the externalization, folk etymological rethinking on the part of semantics and changing of the component constitution, morphological transformations - from the structure. Units that preserve identity with codified phraseologisms(idioms) and qualified as individually authoring are distinguished.
