The article discusses the evolution of the functioning of the term "discourse", analyzes the interpretation of this definition. The author's interpretation of the school discourse as a complex communicative phenomenon created by the subjects of the educational process and functioning in the school space is proposed. The necessity of using the associative experiment technique for the study of concepts in modern speech is substantiated. Conclusions have been obtained that the lexical-semantic space of school discourse concepts is determined by the national-cultural specifics and values characteristic of the Russian mentality.
