PROVERBS AS A MEANS OF EDUCATION AND PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT (IN THE CONTEXT OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING)

The subject of this work is the use of proverbs in the educational process. The purpose is to review the issues of using this folklore genre in the context of foreign language teaching. It is shown how proverbs contribute to the achievement of educational, developmental and learning objectives. The author describes her experience of working with proverbs in teaching the German language to students of non-linguistic areas of training / specialities, offers guidelines, including the tasks for working with proverbs created by the author. The article may be of interest to university and school teachers of any foreign language, the Russian language and literature, as well as those of primary school.
