CULTURAL LINGUISTICS ANALYSIS OF BRITISH, AMERICAN AND SPANISH MASS MEDIA TEXTS DEVOTED TO THE PRESIDENT OF RF V.V. PUTIN

The article is devoted to the cultural linguistics study of different linguistic means used to describe the president of RF V.V. Putin in the mass media texts of Britain, USA and Spain. The new scientific paradigm stages of development have been analyzed. It turned out that the key issue of this paradigm is the study of interrelation between language and culture. The trends in the cultural linguistics study are described. The purpose of the research is the study of linguocultural aspect of the metaphors used to describe the image of the Russian president in British, American, and Spanish mass media. To achieve this goal the following tasks were solved: the theoretical base of the problem has been systematized, the linguistic units’ specific features have been found out, studied and described, the analysis is done on the basis of English and Spanish mass media texts, language units’ semantics and cultural connotation are analyzed, the results of the scientific research have revealed the differences in the used linguistic units. This fact has been reasoned by the different cultural background. The research methodology was based on the method of continuous sampling, descriptive, interpretative and content analysis methods. The linguistic units under study allow to define both cultural similarities and differences and of Anglo-Saxon and Spanish authors and state their reasons in the process of V. Putin image creation.
