The paper deals with the research of the XIX century Scottish emigrational poetry of the USA with the main personages - women. Main types of heroines, dominating artistic means and genres are determined. It is ascertained that heroines-Scotswomen are mostly women from close family circle: mothers, fiancées and wives. Heroines-Americans are practically not found in the analyzed poetical works. This fact can be explained by the biographical context of their creative work: poets emigrated dominantly at the adolescence and mature age. Usage of idealization is totally reasonable in the context of dominant patriotic motives in the Scottish emigrational discourse. Idealization furthers transformation of the image of mother/girlfriend/bride/wife into the image of Scotland - country’s image that is truly loved and united forever. Elegy and epitaph are preferred among the variety of genres. The image of woman urgent for the Scottish emigrational discourse is not urgent for the English poetical gender discourse of the XIX century because of its patriarchal character. But it totally corresponds with the notions of woman’s role dominating in XIX century Scottish and USA’s societies.
