The article is devoted to various concepts underlying the theory of discourse and characterizing modern linguistic paradigm. New directions of the science of language often rely on the methods of discourse analysis. This is evidence of the importance of discourse as an object of research. The author is of particular theories of discourse developed along with the development of his General theory, which have significant heuristic potential for the understanding of contemporary social and cultural process. For many studies starting point is the thesis you are, what your discourse that emphasizes the crucial role of identification and positioning as the most important functions of discourse.
