PECULIARITIES OF PERSUASIVE STRATEGY REALIZATION IN BRITISH POLITICAL DISCOURSE: MULTIMODAL APPROACH

The article deals with peculiarities of persuasive strategy realization in British political discourse. Strategy of persuasion is viewed as macrostrategy, which includes agitation and argumentation substrategies. The author uses multimodal approach: examples have been analyzed taking into account several channels of information transfer used by the speaker. The most common verbal and non - verbal means of communication used by the speaker with the purpose of persuasion are analyzed.
