The article presents the types of changes in the system properties of words belonging to syncretic grammar classes. Observations of the behavior of peripheral discharges in the sphere of parts of speech made it possible to detect the processes of interaction of parts of speech resulting from the very nature of parts of speech and similar synonyms at the lexical level; to trace the influence of semantic changes on the qualitative transformation of the categorical meaning of a word relating to a particular part of speech; to reveal the systemic nature of formal, grammatical transformations that occur at the syntagmatic level, which is largely facilitated by the identity of the syntactic functions of the analyzed structures.

Key words: синкретичные грамматические классы, лексико-грамматические разряды, частеречное взаимодействие, грамматическая омонимия, семантические изменения, категориальное значение, система формообразования, словообразовательные свойства, морфологические изменения, синтаксические функции, syncretic grammar classes, lexical and grammatical categories, part-word interaction, grammatical homonymy, semantic changes, categorical meaning, morphological system, word-forming properties, morphological changes, syntactic functions
