In this article the concepts "humour", "laughter", "comic" which are characteristic of any culture are considered and used as identical The Arab humorous culture is inseparably linked with Islamic tradition in general, in this regard the relation to a phenomenon of laughter is very contradictory. On the one hand, laughter is a positive phenomenon, on the other hand, it is a source of conflict, since the perception of humor depends on various interpretations of religious precepts. The purpose of the article is to consider the concepts of “humor” and “laughter” from a positive point of view on the example of the anecdote genre; to analyse the genre specifics of the specified phenomenon, to reveal language tools for comic effect of typical storylines.
