In the proposed article reveals the extent to which the collection “Thunder-Seething Goblet” of Igor Severyanin continues, develops and destroys the traditions of such as epic-liryc genres - ballade and idyll. The work demonstrates that the content and form of Severyanin’s “Ballade” (1909) little reflects a traditional genre savings. The author retains the classic ballads chronotope and recreates traditional for ballads of mystical atmosphere. However, in this poem is missing the protagonist of on dialogue between the “real” world and the “otherworld” ballade conflict shifted author evend level subtext. In the poem of Severyanin modified mechanism of synthesis of genric components, peculiar ballads genre models: epic and dramatic element are weakened and to the foreground leaves lyrizations. The poet also violates a classic ballade rhyme. A slightly different type of transformation works of the lyric-epic genre we meet in the poem “Idyll” (1909). Genre essence correlates with the peculiarties of the poetic style of the Severyanin. In “Idyll” poet plays all the traditional signs of the genre: combines description of domestic life and natural landscape with love theme, recreates idyllic chronotope, emphasizes the characteristic of idyll cyclical time, form a generalized images of the main characters. In their idyll Severyanin retreats form canon about only compositionally speech structure of classic sample: have narrator functions performs the lyric itself heroine. The article concludes that the specificity of Severyanin’s genre-thinking relative to canonical poetry genre is very ambiguous. It covers a wide range of possible modifications: strict adherence to canon and the complete destruction of genre signs. Mechanisms for conversation and undermine traditions of genre author carry individual features Severyanin’s genre-thinking and seamlessly support the upsurge of lyrical poetry, which is the typical for the XX century as whole.
