In the article, reflecting experience on the formation of social and cultural identity of students at the lessons of Russian language, explains the importance of attention to the lexical level of the language, identifies the main difficulties in the work on the lexicon, caused by including the multicultural composition of the student body; in relation to the current situation, discusses the concept of “аgnonyms” suggests some ways to work on lexical themes, directly related to introduces students to Russian culture and traditions.
