The article is devoted to questions of development of communication skills in children with intellectual disabilities. It is proved that under the condition of creating an optimal, adapted to the abilities of the child educational environment, the process will proceed successfully. Highlights the need to develop pedagogical means to stimulate the needs in communication in children multiple disabilities, the expertise existing in the correctional institutions environment in order to turn it into a single space, stimulating socio-cultural, communicative skills of children with intellectual disabilities to optimize their socialization.
