The article presents the different points of view about the Caucasus A.S. Griboyedov and the authors of the Decembrists first quarter of XIX century. In the first stage lifting movement of the Decembrists, romantic interest in the image of life of the peoples of the Caucasus, those aspects of the social structure of mountaineers who were responsible and ethical political aspirations: the ideals of romantic revolutionaries. The authors note that the works of poets-Decembrists create a single image, a single picture of the Caucasian peoples. A complex, multi-dimensional structure of the motif of the Caucasus in the works of the Romantics.
